Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program “Yellow Ribbon is a community-based program that empowers and educates professionals, adults and youth. We are not funded by federal dollars or large corporations. This is a program of people helping people. Our donations are from supporters in communities.” Support, teen resources, community development, youth programs, motivational speakers.
S.P.R.C. – Suicide Prevention Resource Center

“The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) provides prevention support, training, and resources to assist organizations and individuals to develop suicide prevention programs, interventions and policies, and to advance the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.”

Provides technical assistance to governmental and non-governmental organizations, works with community coalitions, disseminates best practice information.

TeenHealthFX

“TeenHealthFX.com is a project funded by Atlantic Health’s - Morristown Memorial Hospital and Overlook Hospital. The site is maintained with input from teenagers and support from community leaders. Atlantic's Community Health Education Department and the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at the Goryeb Children's Hospital are responsible for the content and operation of the site. The professional staff who answer questions from our vast audience and provide oversight include clinical social workers, health educators, adolescent medicine physicians, pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, nutritionists, and many other health professionals.”

The goal of TeenHealthFX is to provide teens with an online resource for any and all of their questions regarding health, relationships, their body and their sexuality. The vision of TeenHealthFX is to empower adolescents to improve their health through individual responsibility.

This youth-based international campaign utilizes positive peer pressure by encouraging those who make a commitment to refrain from pre-marital sex to challenge their peers to do the same. Project Pledge Project Pledge is an “out-of-the-ordinary community of support designed for young people who choose to live their lives free from the pressures of premarital sex. The American Social Health Association is a trusted, non-profit organization that has advocated on behalf of patients to help improve public health outcomes since 1914. We are America's authority for sexually transmitted infection information.

ASHA is recognized by the public, patients, providers, and policy makers for developing and delivering accurate, medically reliable information about STIs. Public and college health clinics across the United States order ASHA's educational pamphlets and books to give to clients and students. Drug Screening and Alcohol Screening “Join Together is a program of the Boston University School of Public Health. Since 1991 it has been the nation's leading provider of information, strategic planning assistance, and leadership development for community-based efforts to advance effective alcohol and drug policy, prevention, and treatment. We believe problems associated with alcohol and drugs can be best addressed at the community level.” Provides assessment and feedback on drug and alcohol consumption. Screening is based on an assessment created by the World Health Organization (WHO).
NIDA for Teens

“The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), created this Web site to educate adolescents ages 11 through 15 (as well as their parents and teachers) on the science behind drug abuse. NIDA enlisted the help of teens in developing the site to ensure that the content addresses appropriate questions and timely concerns.

Recognizing that teens want to be treated as equals, NIDA scientists were careful not to preach about the dangers of drug use. Rather, the site delivers science-based facts about how drugs affect the brain and body so that kids will be armed with better information to make healthy decisions.”

S.A.D.D. – Students Against Destructive Decisions

“Originally, the mission of the SADD chapter was to help young people say "No" to drinking and driving. Today, the mission has expanded. Students have told us that positive peer pressure, role modeling and environmental strategies can prevent other destructive decisions and set a healthier, safer course for their lives. And that is why SADD has become a peer-to-peer education, prevention, and activism organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking, other drug use, risky and impaired driving, teen violence, and teen suicide.”
